SWG Board and Committees
The Board meets via Zoom 8-9 months a year on the 3rd Thursday of the month. To scout for positions that might interest you, see the full list of Job Descriptions for Board Members and Subcommittee Chairs. If you are interested in any of these roles, you may wish to work with a sitting Committee Chair as the Assistant Chair, in order to learn the responsibilities and rhythms of the job.
Elected Officers manage the affairs of the Guild. Each year, a nominating committee that is independent of the Board recruits a slate of nominees to run for election at the April general meeting. The Officer Slate includes 1st Vice President, Treasurer, Recording Secretary, and Corresponding Secretary.
Current Openings: Member at Large, to be nominated from the floor at the April 2025 meeting. The Nominating Committee will begin interviewing candidates in January 2025.

Standing Committee Chairs are voting Board members who oversee SWG activities. They are appointed by the President. In some cases, like Communications and Member Education, the Standing Committee Chair must be the chair of a sub-committee.

Sub-committee Chairs oversee specific functions in the operations and activities of the Guild. These are non-Board positions.
