Notable Events: 1937-1938

 Library

At the April, 1937 meeting it was proposed that Mary Atwater's Recipe Book be purchased but the membership did not want to spend money from the Treasury at that time.  By September of the same year, the idea of a library gained support.  In October the Guild purchased Mary Atwater’s book, plus a book by Edward Worst and another on Scotch Plaid, and also put together a committee to make the SWG Library a reality. The SWG Library now holds nearly two thousand items and is cataloged through “Library Thing” (https://www.librarything.com/catalog/SWGLibrary).   Members can check out items when the library is open during meetings.

Guild Administration

As a result of a survey, the fourth Thursday of each month was established as the SWG meeting day.

Exhibits

In 1938 two exhibits were held, one at the Rhodes Department Store and one at Fredricks.
