January: Tegan Frisino (in-person)

Morning (11AM): “From Fleece to Blanket”
Afternoon (1PM): “Lessons Learned

From Fleece to Blanket: Take a journey, through the eyes of a production weaver, on what it takes to go from Sheep to Finished Product. Throughout the presentation, Tegan will provide suggestions on how to implement local(ish) wool to a small studio practice, and a honest approach to what it is like working within the fiber supply chain.

Lessons Learned: Tegan has been weaving as a career since 2016, and has learned a few tricks that are applicable to the everyday weaver! Little things can make a big difference in making weaving an enjoyable experience, especially for long warps. Gain some new skills and learn what it takes to weave in a production style during this talk.

About Tegan:

Tegan Frisino is an artisan weaver and fiber artist based in Upstate New York. Immersed in the arts as a child she gained the desire to take something traditional and modify it with contemporary ideas and techniques. This desire led her to pursue and achieve her BFA in Fiber Design and Sculpture from Buffalo State College. She started Comfortcloth Weaving, LLC in 2016, focusing on production weaving methods to produce heirloom quality home goods and small batch yardage for fashion designers. Her inquisitive focus and love of weaving structures is characteristic of her designs; as well as their saturated colors and illusory graphic arts playing a major role. Currently, when she is not weaving, she is studying and working towards a Master Weaver Certification through the Hill Institute in Northampton, MA.
